Day 1
Hoi An Farming & Fishing – Full Day
Start the day with a scenic bicycle ride and pedal past rice paddies to the village of Tra Que (alternatively, it’s possible to take a shuttle bus), on the outskirts of Hoi An. This charming settlement is known for its luscious fields where local farmers grow organic rice, vegetables and herbs, supplying many restaurants and hotels in the area with the excellent produce. Discover the many types of the fresh and fragrant greens and lend a hand working the fields. Learn about organic planting and harvesting techniques and even get the unique chance to ride a buffalo! Return to Hoi An and continue this hands-on excursion with a boat cruise along the river. Meet a local fisherman who will share his secrets of catching fish with large nets. Next, hop into one of the traditional bamboo basket boats, locally known as coracle. Widely used in Vietnam, experience floating and paddling along the river in these unusual vessels before returning back to town.
